You can have constructive criticism when it comes to being able to use Google adsense to make money on the content that you are sharing. One person had a hard time understanding what it was that Google was trying to do by removing an image of a mannequin wearing a one piece bathing suit. As a general rule, don’t share anything you wouldn’t want your kids seeing. Google took down the image, not necessarily because it was offensive, but because they are worried you would attract fewer advertisers that way. This was all able to be worked out because of how well they were each able to communicate this.
Key Takeaways:
- Google has an adult content policy with regards to AdSense which states that if you wouldn’t want a child to see it, it shouldn’t have an ad code on the specific page.
- Google adjusted and publishers gave them positive feedback when they were told they’d receive notifications for ad restrictions rather than losing their AdSense account.
- A issue that was also resolved during this call/meeting is that publishers will no longer have to deal with tons of spammy ads in the future.
“An important fact that came out during this discussion is that the publisher was not in violation of Google’s policies.”
